  • Walk and Talk | My Site

Walk & Talk Therapy Having counselling outdoors can bring real benefits for those clients who enjoy being in nature. Being outdoors can often help clients to feel more at ease and relaxed, and they have found it easier to open up when walking alongside someone rather that sat face to face. Nature helps us also to feel more connected to ourselves, our bodies and emotions which in turn nurture us. What does the research suggest? After carrying out research, Mind showed walking in the countryside could help reduce depression and anxiety. In their survey, they reported that 71% of respondents felt decreased depression and less tense after a “green” walk, while 90% felt their self-esteem increase after a country walk. Greenspace exposure is associated with positive physiological effects including decreased heart rate and blood pressure (Twohig-Bennett & Jones, 2018) Exercising outdoors relates strongly with reduced tension, confusion, anger and depression compared with exercising indoors (Coon, et al. 2011) Walk & Talk is available in the beautiful surroundings of Bracknell Forest, Sandhurst and Y ate ley
